Bessons is interesting as a coffee shop ….it has great food ….has the coffee shop vibe …has strong wifi ….popular cafe cause it was packed when I was there . One major problem and the reason it gets a 1/5 is it uses an automatic coffee maker ….no Italian coffee maker….no barista. Result is very very average coffee . I did enjoy the cafe but if you’re calling yourself a coffee shop you simply have to take coffee seriously.

We arrived in Punta Arenas on a cruise & decided we would walk the town to stretch outlets! We found Bessons (close to the famous cemetery) an easy walk - although not attempted by many cruise passengers! Too bad for you if you don’t make the effort …this is one of the best cafe’s we have encountered in our travels! Very ordinary from the outside but inside - BBC an absolutely spotless & well laid out & functional interior - very comfy! We ordered varied coffee & teas - all excellent - plus we were blown away by the artistry & quality of the pastries, cookies etc. - made in house & simply amazing! The chocolate/salted caramel tart was to die for! The very hospitable & efficient staff included the owner who served us & his wife is the magic behind the pastry option. If you have one chance or option for a break during your time in Punta Arenas - make it Bessons

Besson‘s bakery has extremely affordable, high-quality homemade baked goods by an amazing husband and wife. I had the poached eggs toast. It has chopped fresh avocado and salmon with perfectly cooked poached eggs and a delicious sauce on top of a thick slice of country bread. My partner had the Besson‘s breakfast, a generous helping of avocado, scrambled eggs and the same yummy toast! We got the Blueberry tart to go, and it was one of the most beautiful pastries I have ever seen. All of the pastries are handmade by the owner. The coffees were delicious and they provide lactose free milk. Our total for 2 breakfasts and 2 specialty coffees was under $20,000 CLP. The cafe is bright, colorful, and welcoming. The owners speak English and Spanish and are so friendly and accommodating. Thank you so much Besson’s! We hope to come back soon!

such a lovely place for breakfast! great options, we got the bessons breakfast with avocado and american coffee, plus shared an apple tart. all of the food was incredible and the service was really great - this place hasn’t been open super long but has only 5 star reviews at the time of writing this and i understand why (and of course agree!). if you’re looking for a filling, delicious breakfast (and for very cheap, at that), this is the spot.
