Picadas and Chilean restaurants serve cazuela (meat and vegetable broth), charquicán, pastel de choclo (corn pie) and porotos granados (bean and corn stew), the last two mostly in summer when fresh corn is in, chorrillana (a loaded plate of chips to share) and mote con huesillo as a cold drink-dessert; lunch is the main meal and many close early in the evening.
