The lack of upfront pricing is a bit of a yellow flag, it does feel a little expensive and/or based on your face perhaps if you go in as a tourist. I mean 4k for an empanada without particularly special or pricey ingredients. Maybe once upon a time it was a good value, you can now get a complete lunch for little more.

I ordered a chicken and mushroom empanada. I've read great reviews so I was eagerly anticipating a fabulous treat. There was clearly no confusion with the order because the bag that contained my delicacy was labelled "Pollo". But there was no chicken in it at all! Plenty of mushrooms, lots of cheese, even a couple of prawns, but no chicken! So I took a video of it and returned to the shop to show them. When I asked "Dónde esta el pollo?" the lady merely laughed and shrugged her shoulders. No apology, no free replacement, I just got laughed at!! See for yourself on the video.

I think these are the best empanadas in Valparaiso. I'm Latino but I have never had empanadas like this. All of them are seafood based and have cheese. They are fried on the spot, so they come out fresh and hot I had a salmon, cheese, and capers empanada and a shrimp, cheese, and green onion empanada. Both were fresh and really tasty. And the level of the fry was perfect Really feels like a Valparaiso classic establishment! Highly recommend to visitors

Came out of my hostel looking for a place for breakfast and this place was right next door. Read the reviews and decided to give it a go. WOW!!! Best empanada frites I’ve ever had and definitely the best during my Peru, Bolivia, Chilie travels. And the choice of fillings is impressive. The ladies are so kind and helped me choose despite my language barrier. They are so good I now have one every morning !!

We went there after reading all the good reviews, but to be honest, I’m not sure if it’s good or not because the first empanada I cut open had mold (buy mid morning to eat at lunchtime, not too long after). Very disappointing and dangerous as I was about to give it to my 1 and 1/2 years old daughter.
