The filling of empanada Pino reminded me of a rich onion soup—flavorful, juicy, and incredibly aromatic. It was also great value for the quality and portion. The shop is very popular, so expect a line, but it moves quickly. You pay at the cashier first, then pick up your order at the counter. They also sell dried pasta if you’re looking to bring home a local product.

Just a short walk from Plaza de Armas, Emporio Zunino is one of the oldest businesses in Santiago and an absolute must-visit if you are in the area. They are famous for their large, affordable empanadas. I tried the classic Pino empanada, and while it might not be the single best empanada I've ever eaten, it was the ultimate comfort food. The combination of meat, rich gravy, and onions gave it the distinct, delicious vibe of a French onion soup pot pie! They accept credit cards, and despite the crowds, the queues move very quickly. You simply pay at one of the two stations, grab your ticket, and head to the counter to pick up your food. They have standing bar tables set up so you can enjoy your empanada hot right on the spot. Highly recommended for a quick, historic bite!

Absolute delight. Really enjoyed the empanadas (queso and pino). Very good quality, food was prepared quickly and was hot. Absolutely hope to go there again and try their other options also. Skip the tourist trap places at the market and come here.

The best empanadas we had over two weeks in Chile! They have been here for almost 100 years and you can see why! Order at the window, then bring your tickets to someone at the counter. They'll give you some steaming hot empanadas. The pino was absolutely delicious! Like a fantastic stew in a good dough. The shop looks cool and classic too, and sells several other things to go.

So this shop was really cool they had very few tables pretty much mostly little bar tables with stools where you can stand and eat! I don’t know how many empanadas they make a day but they were very good they were quite large and very flaky super delicious we got some different flavors of the empanadas and we enjoyed them! I’m so surprised I did not take any photos of them we actually were in the lineup quite often because we would order one and then we would order two and then we’d want to order more 😂 I would highly recommend to go here this is an extremely popular tour spot - and rightfully so and I think a lot of the locals come here as well this is a place to really try true Chilean empanadas!
