In Chile lunch is the main meal of the day, roughly from 13:00 to 15:00, once (afternoon tea) comes between 17:00 and 19:00 and dinner rarely starts before 20:30, busiest at weekends. At lunchtime many places serve a menú del día (set lunch), the bill shows a suggested 10% tip that is voluntary, and in the cities almost everything can be ordered for delivery through PedidosYa, Uber Eats or Rappi. Picadas and Chilean restaurants serve cazuela (meat and vegetable broth), charquicán, pastel de choclo (corn pie) and porotos granados (bean and corn stew), the last two mostly in summer when fresh corn is in, chorrillana (a loaded plate of chips to share) and mote con huesillo as a cold drink-dessert; lunch is the main meal and many close early in the evening.
The business lists hours for six days of the week. The most common schedule is 9:00–23:00. It is closed on Sundays. Also bear in mind that 1 January, 1 May, 18 and 19 September and 25 December are mandatory retail holidays, when most shops close. The listed phone number is 61 224 3399. From abroad dial +56 followed by the number. Calling or sending a WhatsApp message ahead is the norm for bookings and appointments.

Unfortunately, this restaurant ended up being our biggest disappointment in Punta Arenas. We were really looking forward to having some good sandwiches and came in with high hopes. We ordered one pork and one beef sandwich. The pork had very good flavor, but it was quite fatty, which made it a bit heavy for our taste. The beef sandwich was okay, slightly on the dry side, but we did appreciate that it was mostly lean meat. Overall, it just didn’t quite meet our expectations, though others might enjoy it depending on their preferences.

Our last stop in Chile we had to get a completo. Best place for that!

Lomitos is a great casual stop in Punta Arenas. The Barros Luco was outstanding and absolutely the thing to order — I’d 100% recommend it and would absolutely go back just for that. The burger and hot dog were just fine but fun to try.

Delicious comfort food and great vibes! Lomito’s was an absolute highlight of our time in Punta Arenas! The food is beyond awesome — we had the Barros Luco and it was perfection. Juicy, flavorful, and packed with that homemade taste that makes you want to order another round (seriously, we almost did). The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe, and the service was quick and friendly. It’s the kind of spot where locals and visitors blend in over hearty sandwiches and good conversation. If you’re in Punta Arenas and want something truly satisfying, don’t miss Lomito’s. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!

This is a high-quality old-school Chilean dinner, and a Punta Arenas institution. The vibe is good, the service is attentive, and the food is simple but tasty and great value. Strongly recommend getting a Churrasco Italiano with a banana milk for a filling and pretty healthy cheap meal. Add Ají Crema to make it incredible .
