Friendly staff. It's right on the strip for the sunday market and not far from September and May Streets (although a walk from the mall and main beach). I was there in winter, off season - ask for a private room!

Actually way better than expected. Rooms were comfy and nice, hot showers.

After reading another bad review here with a similar experience to us, we decided to place a review on Google as well. We have a very bad experience with this hostel. Shortly after our stay, we placed a critical review on Booking.com. We didn’t feel very comfortable at the hostel. When we arrived, we rang the bell 5 times. Eventually the staff let us in. They didn’t hear us because the music was so loud. No big deal. But then we wanted to check in at 17:30 and our room wasn’t ready yet. Staff then made our room ready. We had a shower that night but the drainage of the shower wasn’t built very well so the whole bathroom was flooded with water, which eventually also flowed into our room. That night we wanted to sleep early because we had had a long journey that day. But the walls and windows of the room are very thin and are next to the common space. Guests and hotel staff played fifa all night keeping us awake. When we told them, they were more quiet the next day but someone knocked on our door during the night while passing, as if to make a comment on the fact that we appreciated some quietness late at night. This made us feel quite unwelcome. We were happy to leave the next day,

Lots to say, and none of it positive. Avoid this place if you can. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights as a pit stop on the way to Peru. Given the short turn around, we bought groceries to cook food, in an attempt to keep costs down as we utilised our stay to plan further travels. This was impossible however as the wifi did not reach our room at all (an issue a previous review has mentioned) On the first night, we became aware that the hostel had run out of gas. This was not as a result of being made aware by any member of staff, instead after a cold shower and a failed attempt to cook dinner. The volunteers hid away, obviously so they did not have to deal with any backlash from guests. It took us messaging the phone number and the instagram to get any kind of answer. Once the gas did come back on, all of the volunteers came out of the woodwork to cook their own food, forcing us to wait over an hour. Also the septic tank was being emptied, from the central corridor of the hostel, which made the whole place smell of poo. All of the reviews say about how great the volunteers are, which is funny because they made little to no effort to talk to us - instead simply side eyeing and

Thank you Gabriel for providing this nice place for us travelers. 100% recommended. Close to the center with a nice surrounding of restaurants. We stayed 5 days and we loved it. Everything very clean, the rooftop so lovely and the kitchen has everything you need. The stuff very helpful and Gabriel was always responding very fast to any of our questions.
