Choosing a clinic, practice or pharmacy is about trust and convenience: check the opening hours, whether it works with FONASA (the public health fund), with your Isapre (private insurer) or only with private patients, and how to book an appointment (pedir hora), often online, by app or WhatsApp. In the public system primary care is at the CESFAM or consultorio where you are registered, minor emergencies go to a SAPU or SAR, and the SAMU ambulance number is 131. Dental care in Chile is mostly private, although the GES guarantee scheme covers some care, such as dental emergencies and oral health for six-year-olds, pregnant women and 60-year-olds; book ahead and, for severe pain, ask about emergency appointments.

Opening hours are published for five days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9:00–13:00 and 14:30–19:00. The day is split in two, with the lunch break that is usual in regional towns. It is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Hours may change on public holidays, at the Fiestas Patrias in September and over Christmas and New Year. The listed phone number is 64 231 2384. From abroad dial +56 followed by the number. Calling or sending a WhatsApp message ahead is the norm for bookings and appointments. More information is available on its website, clinicadentalart.cl.
