Golfo Di Napoli Trattoria e Pizzeria

I used to be an adept of Golfo di Napoli but that changed last tuesday when I ordered lasagna. There were between 7-9 layers of lasagna noodles and the cheese could only be felt in 1 or 2 at best. The sauce was underpowered, bland and lacking as it wasn’t able to amelliorate the experience. I couldn’t finish the plate as I had the feeling of being force-fed carbohidrates as if I was some kind of refugee. My conern is that the place was full, I can only imagine it’s because of prices being budget friendly. Unfortunately is the only friend you’ll have in Golfo di Napoli. If you want to have a satisfactory experience both grastronomically and price wise stick to your own place and follow any recipe from youtube videos on a good sauce. I get the feeling Golfo di Napoli could use some guidance from such videos as well.

So, I’m totally aware that different quisines are prepared differently in different countries. Chinese food in the U.S is not going to be the same as in China and neither is Indian food going to be the same as in India in for example the UK. Simple and understandable. With that being said I’m coming from a European perspective having had really good Italian food and having vsited Italy several times (yes, I’m using the “I’ve been to Italy”card). What I love about Italian food is the simplicity. It makes it very hard to cheat with the quality of the produce and hide the bad under a cover of a lot of spice as well as still managing to be very flavorful. Nothing beats a fresh al dente pasta dish and this was also what I was hoping for when I arrived at Goldo di Napoli in Santiago. So, let me start with the positives. Service – I was attended as soon as I arrived and got to order in less than five minutes. The waiters were very attentive and solution oriented. Ambient – It is a busy place and the ambient is buzzing and nice even if you, like me, dine solo. Venue – Simply but nicely decorated with images from Italy, yellow walls, and rustic furniture, giving a very genuine "Italian"

Great food! For pasta/pizza lovers Perfect balance price/quality 👌🏽 Desserts are amazing 👏🏾 Lots of photos of guests and diplomas of quality. Participation in pizza mundial and starguests. Big takeaway queue and can order online or by phone. Friendly staff and management. Super assistance for food choice. Always crowded on lunch time - come ahead. Big parking space.

Amazing restaurant with extremely convenient price/quality ratio. I have been there several times and I keep going. Friendly staff, delicious food. There are no reservations, so come with time, but for sure for a great time.

If you like Italian food and are really hungry this is your place. Plates are huge and it is a tradition to save some food to take home. During lunch and dinner this place is really crowded but they will ask you to wait, take your name and how many people you're with so they can call you when there's some free table, this usually take less than 15 minutes and it is worth it because, at least during lunch, they have special prices: 3.500 - 4.000$ (beverage included). Service is great and prices goes from 4.000 - 7.000 depending on what you order. You can order ahead.
