I had a very nice stay at el arbol; I only stayed for 2 nights but would have loved to stay longer. It's a small, familiar hostel in a good location not far from the bus station and very close to the main plaza. It was always clean, the beds are comfy and the breakfast is very tasty. The two girls working there are super nice, welcoming and helpful. They give you tips on what to do and they also have bikes to rent. I definitely can recommend the place.

This was hands down the best hostel I stayed in during my entire trip through South America. The whole place smells amazing - seriously, every corner has such a fresh, comforting scent that instantly makes you feel relaxed. The staff are unbelievably friendly and warm; not just helpful, but genuinely kind people who make you feel truly welcome. The hostel is spotless, the breakfasts are absolutely delicious, and having soap and shampoo provided in the showers was such a thoughtful touch. The common areas are incredibly cozy and beautifully designed - perfect for relaxing, meeting people, or just feeling at home. For the first time on my travels, I didn’t feel like I was just passing through - I felt at home. I ended up staying a full week, and not because of La Serena itself, but purely because of this hostel. That says everything. If you’re looking for a place with soul, comfort, and the best atmosphere imaginable, this is it. I can’t recommend it enough ⭐️

This is a fantastic place to stay! It is very well taken care of, very clean and comfortable. Jacqueline and Tali were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. They make the place feel like home and had fantastic suggestions. The breakfast was nice and was a good chance to socialise a little with other guests. All of the attention to detail is fantastic, there is always toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and soap in the bathrooms. The beds are very comfy. Highly recommend!

Stayed here 2 times. First time was splendid, other than the check in process. I stayed in the 4 bed dorm. The bathroom outside of it is the size of a closet. Breakfast was outstanding! Full service. The 2nd time I stayed in the 8 bed dorm. Poor choice. It was crowded, and it stunk, along with the accompanying bathroom. Breakfast wasn't as good either. It was late, and no eggs.
