Hotel Isla Rey Jorge is a nice hotel in colonial style building in downtown Punta Arenas. It is only 5 min walk to the main Plaza de Armas square and around 10 min to the seaside promenade. Rooms are spacious enough and clean with comfy beds. Although we had breakfast included we only had our lunch boxes for takeaway because of the tours we had starting very early. Staff was very pleasant and made a very nice gesture. Latam airlines rescheduled our flight so we had to leave at 7PM instead of tomorrow morning in order to catch another flight from Santiago. Despite leaving at 7PM they offered us a small discount for that night. Very few hotels would do that.

No safe in the room is far from acceptable. Rooms were adequate for an overnight stay. However far to warm for us. Breakfast was ok but everything is so sweet

Great location, everything was in close walk. Very nice staff. Decent breakfast. The beds were cozy and the shower worked well. The only downfall was the temperature was very hot and there was no thermostat to regulate.

The location is perfect, the building is beautiful and I was very well greeted. They checked me in earlier and helped with the luggage seeing me on the street. I think you expect something different from 4-star hotel and that they shouldn’t position it like this as I see people disappointed in the comments. The room might need some renovation and more attention to cleaning. Nevertheless I felt it as a part of experience and really loved staying in an old building and rooms. The breakfast was good.

This is a great little centrally-located hotel in Punta. Historic rooms, good hot showers (let them run) and a generous & filling buffet breakfast (coffee the same as every other hotel). Arrived at midnight, efficient & courteous desk clerk, my lack of Spanish and his basic English was not a problem. Forget the whinging reviews, this is everything you need.
