We had an excellent stay here. Our hosts were very welcoming and we felt as home. The bungalow was very comfortable and the hotel is very well maintained. The breakfast was great.

The staff is really nice (Jimena is very helpful) however this lodge offers disappointing value for money. Rooms are overpriced compared to other options in Putre (eg Terrace lodge). Breakfast is well below average (and when you ask for an egg, they charge you extra....). Good point is that they sell petrol. Altogether, in my option, Chakana is a plan B or C in Putre, not a first choice.

We stayed 4 nights. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the sunsets are fantastic. The breakfast was good and a mini fridge in the room was nice for the snacks and beverages we had with us. Excellent location to do many day activities in the area and get acclimatized to the higher elevation. Putre is a cute town and it is a short walk from La Chakana.
