In Chile lunch is the main meal of the day, roughly from 13:00 to 15:00, once (afternoon tea) comes between 17:00 and 19:00 and dinner rarely starts before 20:30, busiest at weekends. At lunchtime many places serve a menú del día (set lunch), the bill shows a suggested 10% tip that is voluntary, and in the cities almost everything can be ordered for delivery through PedidosYa, Uber Eats or Rappi. Chilean-style sushi uses plenty of cream cheese and avocado (palta), and fried or tempura rolls are among the favourites; almost every place delivers and offers sharing platters, and if you prefer no raw fish, ask about cooked or vegetarian options.
The business lists hours for all seven days of the week. On most of those days it is open 13:00–16:30 and 18:00–22:00. Service is split between lunch and dinner. Also bear in mind that 1 January, 1 May, 18 and 19 September and 25 December are mandatory retail holidays, when most shops close. The listed phone number is 2 2950 3051. From abroad dial +56 followed by the number. Calling or sending a WhatsApp message ahead is the norm for bookings and appointments. More information is available on its website, mandarinoriental.com.
Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 282 reviews, placing it among the better-rated sushi and Japanese restaurants in Las Condes on this site.

If you’re visiting Santiago, the Mandarin Oriental is literally the only place you need to stay. My husband and I are vegetarians, and our experience here—especially at Matsuri restaurant—was absolutely mind-blowing. On our first night, they went completely above and beyond to adapt the menu for our dietary needs. Augustina (the restaurant manager) gave us the warmest welcome, and our server Jackeline was so sweet, enthusiastic, and attentive to everything we needed. The food was so incredibly good that we told them we'd be back, and we casually suggested they expand their veggie options. Well, Augustina totally stepped up and surprised us on our next visit with a fully customized vegetarian experience! We were treated to a 5-course veggie feast personally served by the chief chef, Nicolas, who is insanely creative. To top it off, Fabian (the head bar manager) paired every single course with amazing custom mocktails, and Natalie gave us fantastic service for the rest of the evening. What really stood out was how incredibly efficient everything was. The teamwork in that restaurant is next-level—the kitchen and the floor staff move like a well-oiled machine, and it made the whole eve

Our first visit to Matsuri was on Mother's Day, and though they were very busy, the food was delicious and well presented; and the service was extremely gracious under the stressed conditions. As the service frenzy calmed down, we had a friendly chat with the head bartender, Fabian, and the bar manager, Sebastian, about their wonderful cocktails. Of course, we talked about Pisco, our new favorite liquor. Sebastian invited us back for a pisco tasting later in the week. Of course we returned for this opportunity! Sebastian gave us a history lesson on Pisco, explained different production procedures, taught us how to taste pisco, presented different varieties for us to taste, and made us pisco sours. He challenged his bartender, Panchi, to make Chilean versions of our favorite cocktails, gin martini and old fashioned...and they were delicious. She then whipped up the house signature cocktail - Pisco Negroni - to complete our tasting. It was perfect, as well as being the only Negroni I've ever enjoyed. To complement our tasting, Chef Nicolas brought out sushi and dumplings for us that were, of course, simply amazing. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Matsuri

The entire process, from arranging very late Mother’s Day reservations to supporting my seating needs for a broken knee, showed considerable compassion from the entire staff. The food was creative, very well executed and delicious . The service was attentive and friendly despite a large Mother’s Day turnout. All in all, an excellent dining experience.

The “Nikkei”-style food at Matsuri was a HIGHLIGHT from our Patagonia expedition. Nikkei = Japanese techniques using Peruvian ingredients. Pro Tip: I recommend ordering any dish with “Tare” sauce! The Ceviche was not impressive, but the rest of the meal was fantastic. The cocktails were delicate, well-mixed, and high-quality. Atmosphere was soothing and relaxing. Spent $100USD pp but reasonable value given the total volume of food & drinks served inside our luxury hotel. Context: My brother and I are adventurous eaters and have never eaten “Nikkei”-style food. Prior to this day, we even ate a very expensive, high-end, Chilean fine-dining restaurant nearby with creative dishes, high-class plating, quality architecture, and a beautiful view. But in hindsight, it pales in comparison to the pureness of the flavors at Matsuri. IMO, the #1 food spot to anyone visiting this area!!!

I am so glad that we tried Matsuri. Every single meal we had was great! I could probably eat my weight in the Misoyaki pulled pork filled dumplings. Beyond the excellent food, our waiter, Phillip, was superb. His recommendations were 100% aligned with our tastes, and he made sure that food allergies were communicated with the kitchen. He, along with the great food and kitchen staff, deserves all the stars I can give in this review!
