Better than unimark or jumbo for produce by far and you can usually talk down the prices. The market restaurants are quite affordable. There is a bathroom they charge to use and lots of choices for produce, lunch or meat cuts. Bring cash rather than a card and enjoy the sights!

One of the best local experiences. Cheap, amazing food and fresh produce and meats. Once you get through the barrage of chattering people trying to pull you into their little eatery, you can basically choose any shop here and get pretty reliable awesome food for cheap. My 2 favorites are the one on the right immediately on the right as you enter the building from the plaza side, as well as the one 2 to the right, outside, as you enter from that same side. Note to newcomers: the menus are largely an illusion. They make what they make and have whatever is left. Ordering from the menu only works about half the time. Oh, and the "costillar" (beef ribs) are the best I've ever had, but get there before 2 if you don't want them to be sold out...

Lots of excellent fresh produce, but keep an eye on your belongings. It's a great place to get pickpocketed.
