Amazing place! This is one of the best experiences in Santiago, that’s a great way to go to a traditional Chilean place. They provide great food, amazing drinks, incredible staff and even a little music show! It’s important to make a reservation and I recommend lunch time. Besides, the terremoto is a must try!

Amazing service from Johan! Even though the restaurant was packed, he never once lost track of us. He was attentive, friendly, and always on top of everything throughout our visit. The food was incredible. I’m vegetarian, but I decided to try the chacarera—and it completely exceeded my expectations. The meat was so juicy and tender, it practically melted in my mouth. I gave it a shot because I’ve heard how good the meat is in Coyhaique, and it definitely lived up to the hype. If you’re craving great food and want to experience a spot where locals hang out, this is the place. Thank you, Johan, and thank you to Hoyo Restaurant!

Fun vibes. Great cocktails and the best food we had in Chile. Beef and artichoke tartare were both phenomenal, mushrooms delicious. Friendly staff, good value. Highly recommend, as did Anthony Bourdain. Try the white wine and pineapple icrecream dessert, it's surprisingly good.

I tried to reserve but it doesn't work. So we went without reservation, and waited about 10-15 minutes to get seated, we were seated at the bar. Anthony Bourdain once visited and raved about this restaurant, well I was his fan. The atmosphere was so party-like. I had to use Google Translate to read the Spanish menu. The food and flavor were both excellent, and the prices were reasonable. Two of us enjoyed a four-course meal, CAZUELA VACUNO -Beef Casserole, PICADILLO EL HOYO with PORCION DE PERNIL-ham, PORCION DE LENGUA-beef tongue, PORCIÓNDE ARROLLADO-meat roll, 1/2 CRUDO-raw minced beef. The quantities of food were generous so that we had to share it with our next seat couple. No wonder it's so popular with locals. Personally my favorite dishes are beef tongue-tender and flavorful, meat roll-chewy, good with spicy sauce. El Hoyo is near the popular Italian neighborhood, lined with shops and restaurants, and bustling with tourists.
