Hotel Astore Suites

Located right in the city centre. This is a budget place for trades people, contractors and mining personnel. Just like the hotel, the photos are very dated. Reception is located on the 6th floor with security cameras everywhere. Small towels and a tv remote were issued over the counter. I don't recommend the area or hotel for female solo travellers, families or couples; it's only suitable for tradies, mining personnel, or budget travellers. As a travelling couple we did not feel safe in this area and having seen the room we asked for a refund as per conditions on booking.com. There was no administrator available to support the pleasant receptionist, and we had to walk away with 50% refund in cash after 2 hours of negotiations and we are still waiting for the other 50% promised - in the end we walked away and booked an excellent hotel for a similar price just 10 mins drive south along the avenue del mar. Not staying here was our best decision.

The bed sheets where dirty. When I was there the whole Hotel smelled like Marijuana, the check in took forever, the breakfast was really bad. I wouldn't recommend going there.
