We had the Paila Marina and the Cazuela de Vacuno. We also had the Empanadas 4 unidades. They give complimentary fresh baked bread and 3 spoonful salsa condiments. I used the salsas with the delicious empanadas. The dough was perfectly baked. The stuffing of meat and egg was delicious. The big pieces of seafood in the Paila Marina were fresh and the broth was very tasty. The Cazuela was delicious. The beef shank was tender. The potatoes and carrots were perfectly cooked.

The food didn’t impress us. The empanadas were good, but the seafood soup was almost entirely mussels and eventually became unpleasant. The mussels were overcooked and mushy, likely due to excessive cooking time. The breaded cod wasn’t anything special, and the side dish was underwhelming as well. Considering the reviews we had read, we expected much more. In the end, the price felt quite high for this type of restaurant. Perhaps we simply chose the wrong dishes.

This is a very local restaurant. It feels like being fed by my mother. Delicious, hearty and nourishing food. We went there twice in a day! So we pretty much tried everything on the menu, except the mixed meat dish. Everything we ordered was delicious. And it is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.

We had a lovely meal at La Cocina Criolla after our W trek. Food was very affordable compared to other options we looked at. I got the traditional beef soup and my sister got the vegetarian option which had a ton of great veggies topped with a creamed corn that was baked. Both were so hearty and so delicious. Even the complimentary bread we got served at the start of the meal hit the spot.

We were craving warm soupy dish and came across this place. We had their cazuelas, mine was with beef and my friend was with chicken. I really like it! The beef was tender and cooked well. It came with rice and veggies and big chunk of potato and a corn knob. The soup was warm and flavourful and easy on the stomach. The chicken one was okay, I liked the beef one better. The service was good. Definitely recommend!
