Came to eat today and greeted with very rude female employee. The place opens at 6pm, we arrived at 6:01. And the female employee was about to open the gate for the night. We greeted her, she didn’t greet back, but said Uno momento with a bad attitude and keep fixing her clothes without opening the gate. She asked us if we have reservation and demanded to speak spanish with an attitude. It really bothered us to be greeted this way, we said cancel our reservation and walked away. There was no other customer except us.

After living in Japan for many years, this is the first place in Chile that has come close to real Japanese cuisine! Really delicious, still thinking about that Katsu curry!

The food is great, and the service is also very thoughtful. Parking is still available in the backyard. I hope more English explanations can be added to the menu, because the translation software is not very accurate.

I've been to Shoogun I think three or four times, with somewhat varying experiences but it's stayed consistently amongst my favorite sushi places in Santiago. Coming here, you can expect to have traditional sushi; avocado (much as I, like any Chilean, love it) is sparse and cream cheese is nowhere to be found. And course, not everything is sushi. They also serve many other traditional dishes and a few kinds of noodles. This time, I went with one my partners, to celebrate our anniversary. As I said earlier, I'd been before, with generally positive experiences but I think I hadn't visited the place for a year, if not more. What can I say? I'm not quite sure if it's because I haven't had much GOOD traditional sushi since my favorite place had to close several months ago, or maybe it has just improved, but this time was truly very, very good. My partner and I shared some noodles, as well as a nigiri selection and a couple makis. We wanted zaru soba (used to be on the menu, but we couldn't find them anymore), and seeing as how they had other preparations with soba still, we asked the waitress and the sushi chef overheard us and said of course they could make them.
