We had a wonderful 11-night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. A special thank you to Yelka, Denise, José, Chris, and the rest of the staff, who were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We had a couple of issues with the heater during our stay, but the team responded quickly each time, always checked back afterwards to make sure everything was working properly, and even offered us a complimentary drink while the issue was being resolved. That level of care and hospitality was really appreciated. Our room in the new building had a fabulous view, and the location was perfect—just outside the town centre, making it nice and peaceful, yet only a 15 minute walk along the waterfront to reach the shops and restaurants. Breakfast was beautifully presented with a great selection of options. At check-in we were asked about any dietary requirements, and it was wonderful to see that this was followed through for the duration of our stay. The dinner menu was a little limited, which is understandable during the quieter winter season. We dined in the restaurant twice, and on one of those evenings we celebrated our anniversary. Here’s a polished review you can post: From the moment I arrived at Weskar Lodge, I felt like I was coming home. The entire team goes above and beyond to make you feel genuinely welcome, and their warmth and hospitality are unlike anywhere else I’ve stayed. The rooms are beautiful, exceptionally comfortable, and immaculately presented, with breathtaking views over the water that are worth waking up early for every morning. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day exploring Patagonia. The breakfast is simply outstanding, without question the best I’ve had anywhere in Patagonia. Fresh, delicious, and with plenty of variety, it’s the perfect start to the day. I’ve travelled extensively around the world, and Weskar Lodge has become one of those rare places that feels truly special. It’s more than just a hotel, it’s a home away from home. I honestly think I’ve found my new home in Chile, and I can’t wait to return. Thank you to everyone at Weskar Lodge for making my stay so memorable. Highly, highly recommended.

The hotel is located a short walk from town, and is accessed by a moderate climb from the main road. The reception staff were very polite and helpful, and the welcome drink was a nice touch too. Our room was fairly basic, with no opening window, and balancing the radiators was a bit of a challenge to get the desired heat level, but this was more than made up for by the stunning views of the lake and surrounding scenery. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold dishes and started at 6.30 a.m. which was a major plus for us, given the early starts for several of our tours. Lunch/dinner was a bit of a mixed bag. We were told everywhere that the lamb and salmon in Patagonia were definitely worth trying. Unfortunately, the lamb that I ordered at their La Casona restaurant one lunchtime was terrible. As my picture shows, it was dry, tough and virtually tasteless with no demi-glace. I am fairly certain that this had been prepared days earlier and had simply been reheated. The spinach and broadbean vegetables were nice, though. The salmon was also rather a letdown, being overcooked, but again the accompanying vegetables were fine. On the following day we ordered t

This place is pretty great. Staff is very polite and helpful. They all speak English well, but were willing to suffer through our clumsy attempts at español. The bad reviews seem like expectations were not aligned with reality. I.e. the Wesker is great, but don't expect the Waldorf Astoria or Ritz Carlton.
