This is long overdue but I want to share how special my trip to the Sheridan Viña Del Mar was. I went the weekend before my birthday and I was warmly greeted by the reception staff and my room had been upgraded. In the room was a beautiful display of flowers, wine, and birthday treats. The room was gorgeous, the view was amazing, and I spent more time in the room than outside because the room was so great. I had such a great time and this hotel will always be my first choice whenever I am in the Viña/Valpo area. Special thank you to supervisor Macarena and Catalina who checked me in!

Amazing experience! We got there early and staff offered us an early check in. The indoor pool and facilities were very clean and nice. Beautiful views everywhere in the hotel! Our room was unbelievable. Comfy beds l, light and bright. Faced the ocean. Getting to see the birds fly passed, the boats, paddleboarders and swimmers was perfect. Shower and room facilities were great. We really enjoyed the breakfast, highly recommend the omlette. The sauna was extra special Only criticisms were Breakfast: tables had no numbers so we noticed omlettes often went to the wrong tables (including ours) Spa facilities: pool noise and any screaming in the pool was a little disruptive to the massages. Only bothered me a little but messed up the ambiance for my partner. Pool: having to wear a cap is a little weird, surely if everyone showers before hand this is unnecessary. I've never had to do this in any hotel four seasons included. Just seemed a little odd.

Pros • Stunning ocean views from the hotel • Clean, comfortable room • Large breakfast buffet • They gave us a late checkout at 2pm for our honeymoon, which we appreciated • Staff spoke acceptable English Cons • The on site restaurants had very poor reviews, so we ate lunch and dinner elsewhere both days. That was disappointing. When you book a five star hotel, you expect to relax and enjoy good food without leaving the property. • At check in, they refused debit cards and only accepted credit cards, which we rarely use in our country. The receptionist said that because our card was foreign, we had to pay an extra 50000 pesos in taxes, even though we paid in pesos. They could not remove the tax even when we offered to pay cash, which made no sense. They also charged a 10000 peso security deposit, which they did refund at checkout. • There were no towels at the pool. We assumed this was due to Monday maintenance until 11am, but even at 1pm there were still no towels available. • There were many seagulls everywhere, especially on the roofs visible from the rooms. This resulted in a lot of bird droppings, which did not look nice. Overall, the hotel did not live up to our expectation
