The location is perfect - close to the beach, safe neighborhood with lots of restaurants and cafes. Room size is on the small size but still ok. I didn’t like two things - the lights in the room have a master key and to turn the lights in the bathroom this also turns the lights in the room itself which is super inconvenient- if you get up at night to use the bathroom you would wake up your roommate…. Second thing I didn’t like was the breakfast- exactly the same breakfast every morning- gets boring for more than 2 days…

We were not at all impressed by this hotel. We booked using a credit card via a secure online portal. Following our booking, the hotel contacted us several times asking us to separately send our credit card information on a PDF form (that was for a spa, not the hotel) and stating that our reservation would be cancelled if we did not provide this information. We had to contact the hotel multiple times to ensure our reservation was not cancelled if we did not send our credit card information to a seemingly unrelated business via a PDF form. When we arrived at the hotel, they put two holds on our card for the entire price of the stay. They also added a number of charges. We ultimately did get a room and they charged us for only one stay, but the entire process was overly complicated and stressful. The room itself was fine, but nothing special. It had a slight smell, and you could not turn on the bathroom light without also turning on a light in the bedroom. This was very annoying because we had two people in the room, so if someone went to the bathroom in the middle of the night, the light in the bedroom went on for the person sleeping. The hotel could be great, but we had issues: 1. They repeatedly demanded our credit card again by email and PDF after we had already paid online, even warning the booking would be canceled. I had to call several times to keep the reservation. 2. The room had a strong damp smell. 3. The shower needed 10 to 15 minutes to heat up. 4. You cannot turn on the bathroom light without lighting up the whole room, so using the bathroom at night wakes the other person up.

Very solid Novotel property in Viña Del Mar. The rooms are spacious and the hotel otherwise has a clean, modern feel. Good and accommodating service throughout. You’ll enjoy the pool area, gym, and complimentary breakfast in the morning. Plus, it’s relatively close to the main attractions, although the surrounding area is a bit more rugged. Somewhat far off from the beach, but the public transport to spots like Reñaca and Valparaiso is quick and reliable.

Overall, I had a very good experience during my stay. The most important highlight for me was the staff, they were exceptionally friendly, professional, and responsive, which made me feel truly welcome. I also appreciated the hotel’s strong focus on security. Access to different floors, including the underground parking, is only possible with a room key, and you can’t access other guests’ floors, which gave me peace of mind throughout my stay.
