Hotel Diego de Almagro Punta Arenas

I stayed at this hotel in Puntas Arenas while waiting for my flight to Antarctica. The hotel is conveniently located downtown and close to many restaurants. It also includes free breakfast for all guests. Unfortunately, the hotel is quite dated and needs a renovation. I had two beds in my room and one of the beds had stains on both the duvet cover and pillow case (pics attached). There was a safety deposit box in my room which was not fastened to anything (it was movable). I had to explain this a few times to the concierge until they finally decided to change my room to one with a proper safety deposit box. In addition, there are two guard dogs at a neighbouring building that are constantly barking throughout the day and night which made it difficult to sleep. Based on my above experience, I would recommend staying at another hotel in the area instead.

Love this hotel. Easy to speak to them in both Spanish and English. A lot if great amenities and so close to so much when visiting Punta Arenas, Chile. 5 Stars!

Located directly across the street from the Strait of Magellan, this unassuming hotel with bland exterior, reception and public space, offers large comfortable rooms, manyy with waterfront views. Popular with tour groups, the hotel offers clean rooms, decent food and ambiance. Good value 3 star hotel.

The hotel is in a great location. Rooms are clean. Basic but good breakfast. The person that installed the hair dryers in the rooms has never had to use them otherwise they would know they are good for nothing.
